Welspun Corp Shares Hit Record High After ₹2,000 Crore Aramco Order
On Sunday, Welspun Corp announced that its associate, East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry (EPIC), a listed entity in Saudi Arabia, had signed a contract with Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Aramco) to manufacture and supply steel pipes. The deal, valued at more than SAR 771 million (approximately ₹2,000 crore) including value‑added tax, is for a six‑month duration and will impact earnings from Q4 FY2026‑27 through Q1 FY27‑28. The announcement triggered fresh buying interest, and on Monday, September 21, the stock rose as much as 5.16% to a new peak of ₹2,797.60 on the NSE.
EPIC is Saudi Arabia’s leading manufacturer of Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes. The filing to exchanges highlighted the company’s fully integrated manufacturing facilities, an impeccable track record of executing mega orders on time and with quality, and a customer‑centric approach. These attributes position EPIC as a most preferred supplier in the KSA market and enable it to pioneer support for Saudi Arabia’s strategic objectives under Vision 2030. The contract’s value exceeds SAR 771 million, translating to roughly ₹2,000 crore, and will be reflected in earnings from Q4 FY2026‑27 onward.
Since the announcement, Welspun shares have gained over 4.5% in the past five trading sessions, 16.65% over the past month, and nearly 250% in the past six months. The stock is up 237% year‑to‑date in 2026 and has risen more than 200% in the past 12 months, reflecting sustained investor confidence amid the company’s expanding order book. Despite the benchmark indices remaining subdued, the stock’s rally underscored investor enthusiasm.
In August 2026, Welspun secured the largest single order in its history, valued at approximately $1.8 billion (nearly ₹17,200 crore), for the supply of pipes from its U.S. manufacturing facility. The order, slated for execution between FY 2027‑28 and FY 2028‑29, will substantially strengthen the company’s order book, enhance multi‑year revenue visibility, and validate its scale, quality, and execution capability. It also signals deep and growing confidence from major global energy players in Welspun as a preferred partner for large, complex, mission‑critical pipe infrastructure projects.
Welspun reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1047.88 crore in Q1 FY27, nearly three times the ₹349.16 crore earned a year earlier. Total income rose to ₹4144.91 crore from ₹3586.52 crore in Q1 FY26. The board also approved the acquisition of an additional 51% equity stake in Welspun Captive Power Generation Ltd (WCPGL) from Welspun Living Ltd (WLL), a promoter group company, comprising 1,506,421,3 equity shares of face value ₹10 each, at a consideration of ₹67.66 crore.
