Sterlite Tech Unveils High‑Density Pre‑Terminated Fiber Trunk Assemblies for Data Centres

Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL) announced the launch of a new high‑density fibre cable portfolio designed specifically for hyperscale and enterprise data centres. The launch comes amid an unprecedented surge in bandwidth demand driven by artificial intelligence, cloud services and high‑performance computing workloads. The company positioned the new products as a solution to the growing need for more capacity without expanding physical footprints, thereby addressing the constraints faced by modern data‑centre operators.

In a regulatory filing dated 24 September, STL disclosed that the pre‑terminated fibre trunk assemblies are available in sizes ranging from 48F to 6912F. The assemblies combine ultra‑high fibre density with a slim cable form factor, allowing operators to route more capacity through existing pathways, trays and conduits without compromising bend performance or long‑term reliability. The company highlighted that the assemblies offer premium factory‑controlled optical performance on a variety of connectors, enabling fast and economical installation.

Dr Badri Gomatam, CTO of STL, explained that the new extension of the Neuralis portfolio is built around the equation of delivering more capacity in less time. He noted that the pre‑terminated trunk assemblies are pre‑tested, ready to connect on arrival and flexible, catering to the high‑density, tight‑timeline construction of today’s data centres. The firm emphasised that the design eliminates room for error while meeting the demands of dense network environments.

In the April‑June quarter of FY27, Sterlite Technologies reported its highest ever revenues of ₹1,910 crore and EBITDA of ₹397 crore, reflecting year‑on‑year growth of nearly 87% and 184% respectively. The open order book at quarter‑end stood at ₹18,618 crore. The company achieved an EBITDA margin of 20.8%, the highest level in nearly 20 quarters, driven by an improved product mix and operating leverage.

On 24 September, Sterlite Tech shares closed 5% lower at ₹823.75 on the NSE, after the announcement was made post‑market. Despite the dip, the stock has surged 25% over the month and 704% year‑to‑date. The 52‑week high reached ₹912 on 15 September 2026, while the lowest point of the year was ₹84.60 on 27 January 2026. As of 24 September 2026, the company’s market capitalisation was ₹42,333.44 crore.
