Jio Platforms Debuts as Market Watches Broad Earnings and Key Stocks
Jio Platforms is set to launch its long‑anticipated listing on the BSE and NSE at 10 AM on Wednesday, 28 October, marking a landmark event for India’s primary market following its mega IPO. The domestic market is expected to open lower, with GIFT NIFTY futures indicating a 230‑point drop in the NIFTY50 index. Investors will closely monitor the listing price and early trading performance for signals on market appetite for one of the country’s most closely watched offerings. The debut follows a period of heightened anticipation and regulatory scrutiny.
On the earnings front, 144 companies are slated to announce their September quarter (Q2 FY27) results today, according to the BSE list. The roster includes major names such as Hindustan Unilever, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Adani Enterprises, TVS Motor Company, Hyundai Motor India, Pidilite Industries, Hero MotoCorp, GMR Airports, Vedanta, United Spirits, and many others. These disclosures will provide a broad snapshot of sectoral performance across consumer goods, infrastructure, and automotive industries.
Reliance Industries, the parent of Jio Platforms, will also be in focus ahead of its Q2 FY27 results, scheduled for Friday, 30 October. Investors will track the Jio listing for potential cues on sentiment towards RIL, which remains a key stakeholder in the digital services business.
