HFCL Q2FY27 Net Profit Soars 5‑Fold to ₹394 Crore, Shares Hit 5% Upper Circuit
HFCL Ltd reported its Q2FY27 earnings on Monday, with net profit surging to ₹394 crore, a nearly five‑fold increase from ₹71.9 crore in the same quarter last year. The optical‑fiber wire maker’s shares rose 5 % and were locked in the 5 % upper circuit at ₹268 on the NSE. Managing Director Mahendra Nahata hailed the results as the best‑ever quarterly performance in the company’s history, describing it as a defining moment in HFCL’s growth journey.
Consolidated revenue for the quarter ended September 2026 rose 143 % year‑on‑year to ₹2,541 crore, up from ₹1,043 crore in Q2FY26. For the first half of FY27, revenue climbed 132 % YoY to ₹4,456 crore versus ₹1,914 crore in H1FY26. The telecom products segment led the surge, growing from ₹490 crore in Q2FY26 to ₹2,321 crore in Q2FY27, underscoring the segment’s contribution to the overall revenue jump. The company’s order book for the quarter stood at ₹28,900 crore, up from ₹9,981 crore in Q2FY26, providing multi‑year revenue visibility.
Operating performance mirrored the revenue surge, with EBITDA jumping 223 % YoY to ₹658 crore for the three months ended September 2026, compared with ₹203.7 crore in the same period last year. The EBITDA margin expanded by 640 basis points to 25.89 %, up from 19.4 % in the quarter ended September 2025, reflecting improved cost efficiency and higher margin contribution from the telecom products line. This growth in EBITDA margin is attributed to higher sales volumes and better pricing power in the telecom segment.
Net profit for the quarter rose to ₹394 crore, a nearly five‑fold jump from ₹71.9 crore, while the net‑profit margin increased from 6.89 % to 15.5 %. Management highlighted that the current order book of ₹28,900 crore and an advanced opportunity pipeline provide revenue visibility for six to seven years. Mr. Nahata added that demand is accelerating across AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centres and telecom networks, reinforcing confidence in sustained growth. The company’s optical fibre‑based products continue to drive the majority of revenue growth, contributing to the robust share performance despite broader market weakness.
HFCL shares have delivered more than 290 % returns in 2026 alone, ranking among the best performers in the company’s history. Despite weak performance of benchmark and broader markets, the shares rose 5 % on Monday and were locked in the upper circuit at ₹268. Mr. Nahata remarked that the results reflect increasing scale, strength and momentum of the business, reinforcing confidence in HFCL’s ability to deliver sustained growth and create enduring value for stakeholders.
