Solara Active Pharma Shares Rally 16% After Q2 FY27 Net Profit of ₹28 Crore

Solara Active Pharma Sciences shares surged 16 % to an intraday high of ₹752 on Friday, 16 October, following the announcement of a net profit of ₹28 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27). The company had posted a net loss of ₹10 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The rally reflected the market’s reaction to the firm’s improved profitability after a year‑on‑year turnaround in the market today.

Revenue from operations rose 33 % year‑on‑year to ₹417 crore in the September quarter of FY27, up from ₹314 crore recorded a year earlier. Operating profit, or EBITDA, increased 7 % to ₹77 crore compared with ₹35 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26. The EBITDA margin expanded to 18.47 % from 11 % in Q2 FY26, despite ongoing input‑cost pressures that have traditionally weighed on margins. The company attributes this growth to efficient cost management and strong sales momentum across its product portfolio.

The commodity ibuprofen segment reported a gross margin of approximately 36 % and an EBITDA margin of –0.2 % in Q2 FY27, compared with –11.4 % in Q1 FY27. The improvement came amid changing market conditions, although the business continues to operate in a challenging environment. A strategic review of the ibuprofen business, conducted with board advisors, has reached an advanced stage, and the firm expects to share further updates with shareholders within the next 12 weeks.

Sandeep Rao, Managing Director and CEO, said the company’s base business continued to drive growth, with revenue, EBITDA and margin increasing despite higher raw material costs. He added that ibuprofen is turning around, noting revenue grew 21 % over last year and 18 % over the last quarter, bringing the business close to breakeven from a loss margin of 21 % just two quarters ago. At 2:30 PM, shares traded at ₹706.4, up 8.88 % on the National Stock Exchange.

As of 16 October 2026, Solara Active Pharma Sciences had a total market capitalisation of ₹3,388.47 crore. From the beginning of the year, the stock has risen 25 %, slipping 1 % over the past month, and surged 43.5 % in the last six months. The shares previously hit a 52‑week high of ₹774 on 15 September 2026 and a 52‑week low of ₹422 on 30 March 2026. The company’s performance has attracted attention, prompting the recent 16 % rally in its share price.
