HCL Technologies Eyes Double‑Digit Growth in Q2FY27 Amid Deal Wins and Dividend Outlook

HCL Technologies will announce its second‑quarter FY27 results after market hours on Monday, 12 October. Following steady numbers from TCS, investors are keen to see whether HCL Tech can deliver stronger growth. The focus will be on FY27 guidance, new deal wins and updates on recent acquisitions. The company is expected to report revenue and net profit figures that could lift its outlook for the year. Analysts anticipate that the company’s performance will be closely watched by market participants, with particular attention to its ability to sustain momentum amid global economic uncertainties.

Experts project HCL Tech’s Q2 revenue to rise by 15% to 16% year‑on‑year, targeting a range of ₹34,900 to ₹35,300 crore. Sequentially, revenue could increase by 1% to 3%. The company benefited from rupee depreciation, execution of new deals and revenue contribution from the BFSI segment. In Q1FY27, HCL Tech recorded revenues of ₹34,579 crore, compared with ₹31,942 crore in the September quarter of the previous year. This growth trajectory is expected to support the company’s strategic initiatives and reinforce investor confidence in its long‑term value creation.

Net profit is forecast to climb 15% to 17% year‑on‑year, ranging between ₹4,850 and ₹4,910 crore. Sequentially, net profit could rise by 4% to 6%. The company posted a net profit of ₹4,624 crore in Q1FY27 and ₹4,235 crore in the September quarter of the previous year. The EBIT margin is likely to improve by 20 to 40 basis points, settling between 16.9% and 17.2%. This margin expansion reflects operational efficiencies and higher contribution from high‑margin segments, reinforcing the company’s profitability trajectory in the coming quarter.

Investors will scrutinise HCL Tech’s FY27 revenue and margin guidance, new deal wins in the September quarter, and updates on recent acquisitions such as HPE’s Telco Solutions business and Jaspersoft. Management commentary on discretionary spending and the overall demand outlook amid global economic uncertainties will also be important. The interim dividend announcement is another key point of interest for shareholders. Analysts expect the company to maintain its dividend policy while allocating capital towards strategic growth initiatives to support long‑term shareholder value and sustainable returns.

Ahead of the Q2 announcement, HCL Tech shares traded 3.3% higher at ₹1,216 on Monday, 12 October. Year‑to‑date, the stock has fallen over 25%. The stock rose 3.4% on Friday, recovering from the ₹1,173 support zone tested in the previous two sessions. However, the 20‑day EMA remains below the 50‑day EMA, and the ADX sits at 16.2, indicating a weak trend. The first recovery hurdle lies between ₹1,234 and ₹1,254. A break above ₹1,254 would signal a bullish reversal, while a fall below ₹1,173 could trigger a bearish correction.

The options market anticipates a ±6.3% move for HCL Tech by the October 27 expiry, with a combined at‑the‑money call and put priced at ₹76.5. This translates to an expected range of ₹1,136 to ₹1,289, aligning with key chart levels. A long straddle could profit if the stock moves beyond ₹1,135 on the downside or ₹1,290 on the upside, whereas a short straddle benefits if the price stays within ₹1,135 to ₹1,290 until expiry. Traders should employ strict stop‑losses given the high volatility observed after recent results.
