HCLTech Partners with Anthropic to Accelerate Safe Enterprise AI Adoption
HCLTech announced a Global Premier Partnership with AI firm Anthropic on Monday, October 12, just before releasing its September‑quarter (Q2 FY27) results. The alliance aims to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI, with HCLTech focusing on safety, cybersecurity and governance. Under the partnership, HCLTech will create a dedicated Anthropic business unit and a Centre of Excellence to develop agentic AI solutions. The company will also provide secure sandbox environments for enterprise deployments of Claude through forward‑deployed engineers, and help clients adopt AI‑native engineering practices, train staff and scale deployments safely.
HCLTech’s services teams will build industry‑specific solutions powered by Anthropic’s Claude, Cowork and Claude Code. Meanwhile, HCLSoftware, the company’s independent software vendor arm, will integrate Claude capabilities into select enterprise products. These products include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, and the partnership will also support AI capabilities for Actian AI Analyst. The integration will enhance cybersecurity, automation, business process applications and application development across the client base. The collaboration will also establish secure sandbox environments and forward‑deployed engineers to ensure safe deployment.
As an independent software vendor partner, HCLSoftware will gain access to advanced Anthropic models to embed AI capabilities into select enterprise products across cybersecurity, automation, business process applications and application development. The partnership will enable the integration of Claude and Claude Code into HCL’s agentic software engineering platform, AIForce, supporting workflows across IT support, code remediation and digital employee services. These workflows will be governed by policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight for high‑impact changes, aiming to enable enterprises to deploy AI‑powered processes securely and responsibly.
HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic business unit and a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to develop agentic AI solutions. The initiative will provide secure sandbox environments for enterprise deployments of Claude through forward‑deployed engineers (FDEs). Additionally, the company will assist clients in adopting AI‑native engineering practices, training employees and developing the capabilities required to deploy agentic AI safely at scale. This structure is intended to support the rapid and responsible scaling of AI solutions across diverse industries such as banking, healthcare, telecom and manufacturing.
Daniela Amodei, Co‑founder and President of Anthropic, said the partnership would give companies confidence to deploy Claude in sensitive work, noting that HCLTech manages systems for banks, hospitals, telecoms and manufacturers. C Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director of HCLTech, highlighted the company’s unique combination of global systems integration scale and ISV product depth, stating that the alliance strengthens its ability to engineer and deploy agentic AI at scale. HCLTech, which employs more than 223,000 people in 60 countries, reported consolidated revenue of $14.8 billion for the 12 months ended June 2026.
