CEAT Q2 FY27 Net Profit Falls 40% as Revenue from Operations Climbs 26%
CEAT Limited reported a 40% decline in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended 30 September 2026‑27, falling to ₹112 crore from ₹186 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The RPG Group firm’s revenue from operations rose 26% year‑on‑year to ₹4,762 crore, up from ₹3,773 crore in Q2 FY26. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) slipped 9% YoY to ₹457 crore, compared with ₹503 crore in Q2 FY26, and its EBITDA margin contracted to 9.60% from 13.33%.
On a standalone basis, CEAT’s revenue stood at ₹4,548 crore, reflecting a 23% YoY increase, while its EBITDA margin was 10.14%. Net profit on a standalone basis reached ₹164 crore. For the first half of FY27, the company’s net profit declined 61% to ₹116 crore versus ₹298 crore in H1 FY26, whereas revenue from operations grew 24% to ₹9,080 crore from ₹7,302 crore. The company also highlighted that its capital expenditure of close to ₹490 crore was directed towards expanding capacities where utilisation had been high, contributing to the debt increase during the quarter.
CEAT CFO Kumar Subbiah attributed the elevated commodity costs to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, noting that these pressures would likely persist into Q3. He said the firm would focus on calibrated pricing actions, improving its product mix and moderating price increases. Subbiah also explained that debt rose during the quarter, largely due to the ₹490 crore capital expenditure and dividend payouts, and that the company would maintain fiscal discipline while investing to meet demand and drive profitable growth.
On the same day, CEAT’s board approved the appointment of Sumeet Narang as a non‑executive independent director for a five‑year term, commencing 14 October 2026 and concluding 13 October 2031. MD & CEO Arnab Banerjee commented that the West Asia crisis had kept raw material costs high but the company responded with tighter cost controls and disciplined execution. He added that in the second half of the year, CEAT aims to deliver double‑digit growth again, alongside further price hikes.
CEAT shares closed at ₹3,357.90 on the National Stock Exchange on Wednesday, 14 October, up 2.03%. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹13,582.74 crore.
