Vedanta and TCS Set Dividend Record Dates for October 14, Final Buying Window on October 13

Domestic stock markets in India operate on a T+1 settlement cycle, meaning that shares settle a business day after the trade date. Consequently, a stock whose dividend record date falls on 14 October must be purchased on 13 October to qualify for the payout. Investors looking for dividend income from companies such as Tata Consultancy Services and Vedanta Ltd should note that 13 October is the final day to buy shares to be eligible for the dividend payment.

Vedanta Ltd’s board of directors has declared a first interim dividend for the fiscal year 2026‑27 of ₹5 per share on a face value of ₹1 per share, amounting to ₹1,955 crore. The record date for this dividend is 14 October 2026. The declaration follows the company’s policy of distributing interim dividends to reward shareholders and support liquidity in the market during the quarter.

TCS has announced a second interim dividend of ₹12 per share of ₹1 each for FY27. The dividend will be paid on Friday, 30 October 2026 to equity shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members or in the records of the Depositories as beneficial owners as of the record date, Wednesday, 14 October 2026 in the company's shareholder list for that year.

In Q2 FY27, TCS reported a 15% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹13,884 crore, up from ₹12,075 crore in the year‑ago period. Revenue from operations rose 11.22% to ₹73,188 crore in the July‑September period of the current fiscal year, compared with ₹65,799 crore a year earlier. About 10% of overall revenue came from the AI front, where the firm raised annualised revenue to $3.1 billion from $2.6 billion in the June quarter.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K Krithivasan said the company was pleased with broad‑based growth in all international markets and most industry segments. He highlighted two unique deals announced this quarter with Porsche and Best Buy, describing them as new categories of transformation partnerships that will industrialise AI at scale.
