Sterlite, Welspun, Aditya Infotech and Others Surge Over 150% in 2026 Amid Market Sell‑Off
In 2026, a handful of Indian stocks defied a bearish market, posting gains between 170% and 882%. Sterlite Technologies, Welspun Corp, Aditya Infotech, Sigma Advanced Systems, HFCL Limited, E2E Networks, Cupid Limited, Shilpa Medicare, Diamond Power, and Avalon Technologies all surged more than 100% year‑to‑date. The broader market has fallen nearly 15%, with NIFTY50 and SENSEX down 15% due to foreign investor outflows, a rise in crude oil prices from the US‑Iran conflict, and high US bond yields. Heavyweights such as HDFC Bank, ITC, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro have declined 25% to 30% in 2026.
Sterlite Technologies led the rally with an 882% gain, reaching a market capitalisation of ₹50,715 crore. Sigma Advanced Systems followed with a 411% rise to ₹18,350 crore, while HFCL Limited climbed 291% to ₹40,010 crore. E2E Networks and Cupid Limited posted 269% and 249% gains, respectively, with market caps of ₹14,945 crore and ₹48,320 crore. Welspun Corp, Shilpa Medicare, Aditya Infotech, Diamond Power, and Avalon Technologies also exceeded 170% returns, with market caps ranging from ₹16,100 crore to ₹73,100 crore.
A key driver of these outliers is a robust order book in niche sectors such as AI infrastructure, data centres, telecom connectivity, defence electronics, and power infrastructure. Sterlite Technologies and HFCL reported 67% and 113% year‑over‑year surges in their FY26 order books, reaching ₹7,309 crore and ₹21,206 crore, respectively. Welspun Corp’s global order book hit ₹45,000 crore, driven by steel pipe demand for oil and gas pipelines, LNG infrastructure, and energy projects.
Financial turnaround also attracted investors. Sterlite Technologies turned profitable in FY26, reporting a net profit of ₹56 crore versus a ₹123 crore loss in FY25. Cupid’s FY26 revenue rose 95% YoY to ₹358 crore, with net profit climbing 165% to ₹108.26 crore. Shilpa Medicare’s net profit surged 211% YoY to ₹243 crore, while revenue increased 19% YoY to ₹1,535 crore, signalling a shift toward higher‑value generics and niche formulations.
Aditya Infotech, a video security and surveillance producer under the CP Plus brand, posted a 332% YoY jump in Q1FY27 consolidated net profit to ₹142 crore and an 89% revenue rise to ₹1,402 crore. The Indian government ban on Chinese CCTV hardware boosted CP Plus’s domestic market share to nearly 50%. Avalon Technologies saw a 78% YoY profit increase to ₹113 crore and a 46% revenue jump to ₹1,603 crore, benefiting from a shift toward outsourced electronics manufacturing and supply‑chain diversification.
Investors view large order books as evidence of strong demand, often leading to re‑rating and higher P/E multiples. The 2026 performance of these ten stocks demonstrates that company‑specific growth opportunities can eclipse weak market sentiment. However, the disclaimer reminds investors that securities market investments carry risk and that thorough due diligence is essential before trading or investing.
