Rentomojo Shares Surge Over 10% Amid Revenue Growth Despite 39% Profit Decline

Rentomojo shares rallied more than 10% on Tuesday, October 6, as investors reacted to the company’s first‑ever earnings report for the April to June quarter of FY27 and its post‑listing performance. The stock surged 10.1% to an intraday high of ₹562.60, up from ₹510.95 at the previous close. After the peak, the shares retraced to trade 7.9% higher at ₹552.10 during morning hours, with trading volume exceeding 6.7 million equity shares across NSE and BSE, signalling robust market interest and a surge in investor confidence following the earnings release.

The rally was driven by strong revenue growth and a significant rise in normalised profit, even though consolidated net profit after tax (PAT) fell nearly 39% year‑on‑year to ₹8 crore from ₹13 crore a year earlier. Normalised profit, or net profit before exceptional items, surged 72% to approximately ₹22 crore before the one‑time fire incident expenses in Noida weighed down overall gains. The fire caused damage to the warehouse and stored property, resulting in a one‑time financial impact of ₹11.36 crore, which was excluded from the normalised profit figure.

Revenue from core operations jumped 51% year‑on‑year to ₹126 crore in the June quarter of FY27, compared with ₹84 crore in the same period a year earlier. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) advanced 53.5% year‑on‑year to ₹51 crore, up from ₹34 crore last year. EBITDA margin improved by 64 basis points to 40.76%, from 40.12% a year ago, reflecting better cost management and higher operating efficiency across the business.

Geetansh Bamania, CEO, MD and Chairperson, highlighted that the company has started FY26‑27 with strong momentum, citing a 45.8% year‑on‑year growth in subscribers and a 51.1% rise in revenues, while maintaining a normalised EBITDA margin of approximately 41%. He noted that the IPO has strengthened net worth and enhanced balance‑sheet flexibility, enabling the company to fund future growth and scale operations, and that the first‑quarter momentum is expected to continue, supported by rising demand for rental products and an expanding subscriber base.

Since its IPO listing on September 17, 2026, Rentomojo shares have delivered more than 39% returns to primary investors, with a 19.42% premium on the issue price of ₹404. Compared with the listing price on NSE, the stock has gained over 16% since its debut, and has risen 10% in the last five market sessions. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹5,778 crore as of the October 6 trading session, reflecting the market’s positive assessment of its growth trajectory and financial performance.

The company filed its Q1 earnings report after market close on Monday, October 5, 2026. Investors noted that the first‑quarter momentum is expected to continue, supported by rising demand for rental products and an expanding subscriber base. The fire incident’s impact is considered one‑time, and management remains confident in sustaining growth and profitability in the coming quarters, with a focus on maintaining high operating margins and expanding its customer base.
