A block deal refers to large trades executed through a single transaction of a minimum order size of ₹10 crore. Such deals can only be carried out within the specified block deal window on the stock exchanges. The block deals recorded today were the first session of the window, and the trades were executed in the morning session. The buyers and sellers in both deals are not yet known, leaving the market to speculate on the parties involved.

These block deals contributed to a broader market rally, with Nifty Pharma stocks such as Mankind, Dr Reddy and Gland Pharma lifting the index over 1% after the United States exempted certain drugs from 100% tariffs. The block deal activity, however, was limited to the two companies and did not affect other sectors directly. Investors remain cautious as the identities of the parties in the block deals are still undisclosed, and the market watches for further disclosures that could influence trading volumes and price movements.
